Obituary of Evelyn Blanche Muckle

MUCKLE (Laidlaw): Evelyn Blanche - A resident of Riverview Gardens in Chatham, and formerly of Blenheim Evelyn (Laidlaw) Muckle passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the age of 98. Born in Harwich Township, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Herb and Stella (Roe) McDougall. Beloved wife of the the late David Laidlaw (1977), and the late Harold Muckle (2012). Lovingly remembered by her step son Marvin and his wife Audrey, and two granddaughters Melanie and Jennifer, and three great-grandchildren Addie, Bennett and Charlie. Also missed by her step children Peggy McIntyre (Bob), George Laidlaw (Shirley), Robert Laidlaw, Linda Rabb (Bill), Gary Muckle (Louise), Bernard Muckle (Marlene), Robert Muckle (Heather) and Donald Muckle, 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Murray McDougall (1970). Survived by her two nephews George McDougall and Peter McDougall. Evelyn was a life member of the United Church Women and had acted in pastoral care at the church for five years. She was also a member of the Randolph Churchill Chapter of the I.O.D.E. She was proud of her employment as a tax collector, and her involvement looking after the Senior's group at the church, both for over 20 years. She was a founding member of the Blenheim Historical Society and enjoyed her membership with Harold at the Blenheim Golf Club and the Golden Acres Curling Club. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wanda Winfield. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Evelyn to the Blenheim United Church or the Historical Society of Blenheim and District would be appreciated.
