Obituary of Percy Howard Pickering

PICKERING: Percy Howard- A resident of Duart, and formerly of Ridgetown, Percy Pickering passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Hospital on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the age of 75. Born in Fargo, Percy was the son of the late Harvey Mitchell and Elizabeth Katherine (Hebblethwaite) Pickering. Beloved husband of 51 years to Elizabeth (nee Larsh). Loving father of Bev Pickering (Irene) of St. Albert, AB, Ken Pickering (Deb) of Blenheim, Brenda Preston (Shawn) of Ridgetown, Karen Maw (Scott) of Ridgetown and Mitch Pickering (Amanda Estabrooks) of Ridgetown. Proud grandfather of Gavin Pickering, Janelle Pickering, Dylan Pickering; Joshua Pickering, Jessica Pickering; Ashley Marchand (Jake Nicholson), Daniel Marchand (Brittany Smith), Chelsea Preston and Kari Maw (Will Anderson). Predeceased by his grandaughter Amy Maw. Great-grandfather to Benjamin Marchand. Brother of Joan Drury (late Leonard), Gary Pickering (Lynda), Pauline DeVries (late Ben) and Brian Pickering (Linda). Predeceased by Louise Sutherland (Don), Irene Srigley (Hank) and Harvey Pickering, Jr. Brother-in-law to Elda Pickering, Lorraine Atchison (late Tom), Robert Larsh (Annette), Janet Rigby (late Bill), Dan Larsh (Carolyn), Jim Larsh (Edna), Stan Larsh (Sue) and John Larsh. Son-in-law to Rose Larsh (late Gerard). Percy was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 335, Highgate. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed memberships at the Rondeau Bay Waterfowl Association and Rondeau Rod and Gun Club where he was a life member. He retired from KSR in 2005 after 44 years of service. A Private Family Service will be held with cremation to follow.
