Massender: Dorothy Emma A resident of Chatham, Dorothy Massender passed away at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, on October 30, 1927, daughter of Clarence and Violet (Arnold) Weaver. Beloved wife the late George Massender (2001). Loving mother of Brenda Turner (late Joe, 1999), Brad & Karen Massender, Debbie & Bob Corriveau, all of Chatham, Stewart & Paula Massender of Merlin. Cherished "Gubbie" of Lorie Turner (Louis), Joanne Turner, Joe Turner (Christine), William Massender (Stephanie), Dennis Massender (Pauline), Terri Sinasac (Brad), Charlie Corriveau (Lindsay), Chris Martin (Tiffany), Allie Massender (Brodie), and Jordynn Massender. Proud Great "Gubbie" of Danny and Michael Lucier; Jessica (Travis) and Joseph Turner (Marissa); Ashton Vanthuyne; Mackenzie Faubert-Massender; Bradley Massender; Katie, Kelsey, and Cam Sinasac; Brady, Abby, and Emma Corriveau; Laken Martin, Gabby Plante, and Dexter Martin. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by her brother Reginald Weaver, and sisters Myrtell Snider, Blanche Gernaey, and Margaret Wright. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and was affectionately known as "Gubbie" to many. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
