Obituary of Marie Marguerite Lahey

Lahey, Marguerite – Gently passed away, in her 83rd year, with family at her side, on Friday May 1, 2015. Marg was the beloved wife of Lenard Lahey for 63 years; dear mother of Morris (Elizabeth) Lahey of Sombra, Brian (Susan) Lahey of Chatham, Lorraine (Jack) Pyle of Virgil, Michael Lahey (fiancé Tamara) of Merlin, and Sharron Lahey of Brooklyn, NY; loving Grandmother to Patrick, Steven, Jenna, Kara, Christine, Aidan, Aaron and Ciara; cherished sister of Veronica (Bernard) Girard and Anita Mallett. Marg was predeceased by her parents, Homer and Marie Louise (Pinsonneault) Faubert; daughter, Caroline and her brother Edmond Faubert. Marg was Lenard’s best friend and partner in life. She treasured her time spent with her husband, travelling and tending their gardens at home and at the Rosary Trail. In her later years, she blossomed into an amazing artist. Marg was a superstar mother who shared her love of baking, gardening, art and reading with her family. She volunteered for several charities and was an active and faithful member of the St. Patrick’s Parish and the CWL. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Merlin on Saturday May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marg to the Parkinson Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.mckinlayfuneralhome.com. We are grateful to the understanding staff who walked our family through Marg’s final days at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. We appreciated your effort, smiles and hugs. Thank-you to the family and friends who had such a positive role in Marg’s life, particularly as she faced her challenges in later years.
