Obituary of Ivan English

English, Ivan A resident of Charing Cross, Ivan Lorne English passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He was born in Raleigh Township, 90 years ago, on February 3, 1925. Son of the late Golden and Margaret (Adams) English. Ivan was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marion (Crackel) English. In late 2010, he married Betty Lou (Russell) English, and they enjoyed the past 5 years together. Loving father of Kathryn Johnson and her husband Gerald of Chatham, and Mark English and his wife Trish of R.R.#5 Blenheim. Proud grandfather of Jenny English and fiancé Mike Beri, Linda and Ryan Snobelen, Sandy and Denny Vervaet, Daniel English, and Amanda Johnson. Great-grandfather of Colton and Summer Snobelen, Hannah and Carmen Vervaet. When he and Betty Lou married, Ivan’s family grew to include the Russells: Scott & Ginny, Paul & Elsje, Charlene & Boris Kostiuk, and grandchildren: Chelsea, Taylor, late Braden (February 28, 2015), Jonah, Joshua, and Ben. Dear brother of Elizabeth Huff of Chatham, Bill and Ada English of R.R.#5 Blenheim, and the late Viola Sparks, Florence Laurie, Mary Drewery, Jack English, Illia Sykes, and Harold English. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Ivan was a lifelong farmer in Harwich Township, and had great talents in carpentry. He was a long time member of Charing Cross United Church, and enjoyed square dancing for many years. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Skillings officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Memorial donations to the Charing Cross United Church or the Lung Association are welcomed.
