Obituary of Ronald Montgomery McIntyre

McIntyre, Ronald Montgomery, in his 67th year went to his eternal home on Saturday June 13, 2015. He was born in Chatham November 24, 1948, son of the late William & Ella (Church) McIntyre. Ron is survived by Linda, his son Philip (Leigha), grand daughter Emaleigh and son Zachary. Also survived by sisters, Ruth (Bill) Howe, Edith (Lorne) Jewer and brothers, Kenneth (Denise) and James (Joyce). Ron was a special uncle to several nieces and nephews and their families. Ron grew up in Chatham where he enjoyed involvement in sports, particularly hockey and baseball. He was honoured for his sportsmanship and skill many times. Ron enjoyed lifelong friendships through his participation in sports, his employment with Frederick Transport, Canada Post, driver with First Student bus, volunteer work with Bibles for Missions, Loads of Love and church involvement. His greatest joy was sharing his love of the Lord through everyday conversation, particularly over coffee and donut. In the words of his own father, “Ron exemplifies his “born again” role in life better than anyone I know.” Ron’s family is grateful to the CCAC and especially the excellent staff of Maple City Residence for their exemplary care and support. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday June 17, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Gregory Drive Alliance Church, Gregory Drive, Chatham with Pastor Gordon Reynolds officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Leamington to follow. Donations in memory of Ron to a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated. Held in the palm of God’s hand.
