Obituary of Marjorie Grace Kelly

KELLY, Marjorie Grace (Robertson) A resident of Chatham, Marjorie Grace Kelly, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Born on the home farm in Merlin on September 4, 1924, daughter of the late Alexander & Maude Robertson. Beloved wife of the late Robert Kelly (1995). Loving mother of Nancy (Doug), the late Donna (1995), Robert Jr. (Elizabeth), and Thomas. Grandma will be forever missed by her grandchildren Melanie (Benjamin), Meredith, Morgan, Austin, Drue, Liam, Rosemary, Alexander, and Chelsea. Survived by son-in-law Eugene (Louanne), sister Betty, and sister-in-law Phyllis. Predeceased by siblings Jack (Lillie), William (Sharon), Wesley, Glen (Bessie), and brother-in-law Harold. Favourite Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Always adored by her furry "children" Salmon and Charlie. Marjorie was a long time member of Park Street United Church. She participated as a Sunday School Teacher and the UCW Unit 7 where she made many life long friends. She was one of the first women of her generation to balance motherhood and working outside of the home. Marjorie retired as an Executive Assistant from the Kent County Board of Education in 1984. She was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying swimming, golf, bowling, and shared a love for all music. Marjorie cherished all aspects of her life and treated each family gathering as a celebration. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Stewart Cemetery, Merlin. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, or the Municipality of Chatham-Kent New Animal Shelter.
