Obituary of Gladys May Tuck

TUCK: Gladys May (Taylor) - A resident of Ridgetown, passed away peacefully at Copper Terrace in Chatham on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the age of 97. The world lost an amazing person and heaven gained a special angel. She was the beloved best friend and wife of the late Lorne Tuck (1987). She was born in Chatham, Ontario on July 20, 1918. Daughter of the late Emily (Brown) and George Taylor. Loving mother of Larry Tuck (Mary) of Chatham and Brenda Goldhawk (Jake) of Ridgetown. Proud Grandmother of Lonnie Tuck (Pattie) of Kingston, Leanne Burton (Ken) of Prescott, Paul Goldhawk (Joelle) of Highgate, Lora Prout of Ridgetown, Cathy Binkley (Robert) of Michigan and Trevor Tuck (Tina) of Toronto. Cherished Grandmother of 17 Great Grandchildren. Predeceased by four brothers, George, James, Walter and Arthur. Survived by sister-in-law, Kathleen Taylor of Chatham and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. During her life, Gladys had a special love for family. Gladys was actively involved in Community Service. She was a member of the Ridgetown Adult Activity Centre, Ladies Auxiliary Br. 367 Royal Canadian Legion, Quilting Clubs, and McKay's Corners Women's Institute. Gladys' joy for life was clear. She was always quick to offer a hug or words of support. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Gladys' Life will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Tiffin officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations made in memory of Gladys to the Children's Health Foundation (London Sick Children's Hospital) would be appreciated.
