STANLEY: Edna May A resident of Chatham, Edna May Stanley died peacefully at Riverview Gardens on August 3, 2015 at the age of 96. She was born in Manchester, UK on November 16, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Newton) Lomas. Predeceased by her husband George in 1998, her older sister Minnie of Sarnia, and younger brother Raymond of Gorton, Manchester. Edna & George emigrated to Canada in 1952, and she worked for many years as a Food Supervisor at the Public General Hospital in Chatham. She is survived by her only son Bryan and his wife Helga of Chatham; grandson David and his wife Janet of Cincinnati; and granddaughter Angela and her husband Stephan Mitchell of Toronto. Proud great grandmother of Justin, Ryan, Claire, and Chloe. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Ven. Paul Millward of Christ Church officiating. Edna's wish will be granted when her ashes are placed, together with her husband's, in the Memorial Gardens at Christ Church in Chatham.
