Obituary of Jean Teeuwen

TEEUWEN: Jean (nee Morlog) - A resident of Chatham passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday, September 7, 2015 surrounded by her family at the age of 72. Born in Gassels, The Netherlands, daughter of the late Martin and Anna Morlog. Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Louis Teeuwen (2012). Dear mother of Margaret Teeuwen (Mike Ivison), Donna Rylett (Rick Langely), Bob Teeuwen, Theresa Devolder (Dan), Jim Teeuwen, Christine McKenney (Marty). Devoted grandmother to 5 grandchildren: Bradley Rylett, Ricky Teeuwen, Matthew Rylett, Natalie Devolder and Vanessa Devolder. Two great-granddaughters, Addison Duckworth and Zoe Boak-McKenney. Jean is survived by siblings Joe Morlog (Mien), Hank Morlog (late Marie), Gerda Leach (Roy), Cora Van Brunschot (late Michiel), Jim Morlog (Geri) and Gert McFadden. Predeceased by siblings, Johannes Morlog, Marinus Morlog, Mary Ermers, Annie Lamers, Bert Morlog, Wilhelmina Neefs and Willy Morlog. Jean is also survived by in-laws Theodore Ermers, Jack Neefs, Trudy Geenson (late Martin), Lis Seaton, Joan Teeuwen (late John), Ann Teeuwen (late Chris), Bill Teeuwen and Mike Teeuwen (Mary). Dear friend of the late Nick Beers. Jean had many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted parishoner of Blessed Sacrament Parish where she volunteered for many years, and enjoyed working with her "Angels". Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 145 Victoria Ave, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Cremation to follow with a private family gathering to be held at St. Anthony Cemetery at a later date. Donations made in memory of Jean to Canadian Food for Children would be appreciated.
