Obituary of Doris Dow

Dow: Doris A resident of Chatham, Doris Dow passed peacefully at Riverview Gardens on Saturday, September 19, 2015. She was born 90 years ago on July 9, 1925, in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late William and Mary Boutilier. Beloved wife of 70 years to the late Albert Dow (2013). Loving mother of Bill Dow and his wife Sue of Chatham, the late Albert "Ab" Dow (2014), and the late Lawrence Dow (1979). Fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Laverne Dow of Stoney Creek. Proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Rita & her husband Robert Brown, and Sam & his wife Della Boutilier. Special aunt of Paul Brown and his wife Lois of Halifax. A seamstress by trade, Doris worked with her husband Albert for many years at their shop "Dow Shoe Repair" in Dresden. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:30 a.m. from the Funeral Home, with Fr. Jim Higgins of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. Cremation will follow with interment in Dresden Cemetery at a later date.
