Obituary of William O'Brien

O’Brien, William A resident of Chatham and formerly of Burlington. Bill passed away on Thursday October 15, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 86. Born in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire England, son of the late William and Rosalie (nee McGowan) O’Brien . Beloved husband of the late Joyce O’Brien who predeceased him in 2012. Dear father of Maureen Hastings (Peter), Chatham and Bill O’Brien, Burlington. Grandfather of Nicholas Hastings, Montanna O’Brien and step granddaughter Lisa Schiek-Hastings (Paul). Brother of Sheila O’Brien, Rosalie Beattie (Keith), Terry O’Brien and Elaine Larkin (late David), all of England. Bill played professional Football in England while working in his trade as a Boilermaker. He was proud of his career with the Ford Motor Company in Oakville. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and spent many enjoyable hours reading about politics, history and current events. A private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
