Obituary of John Sigurjonsson

Sigurjonsson: John Edvald A resident of Chatham, John Sigurjonsson passed away at his residence, at the age of 79. Born in Swan River, Manitoba, son of the late Johan and Clara (Stevenson) Sigurjonsson. Beloved husband of Pat Sigurjonsson of Chatham, and dear father of Enid Sigurjonsson of South Carolina, and the late Jennifer (1986). Brother of Kathleen Sigurjonsson of Toronto, Enid Robinson of Manitoba, Pat Rogers of Manitoba, and predeceased by a sister Tanis. John graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce. He worked for Union Gas in Chatham for 37 years, and after retiring, founded a cross Canada cycling adventure business. John was a very civic minded person, promoted bicycle paths in Chatham, and was very interested in city affairs. Family will gather privately for an interment service at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham.
