Obituary of Barbara Jean Bowes

Bowes, Barbara Jean, a resident of Chatham, passed away at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Sunday November 1, 2015 at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Jack & Lillian (Legue) Maine. Loving wife of Bob Bowes. Caring Mother of Scott ( Nancy); and Dan (Janice). Dear Grandmother of Tara (Pat); Lisa; Devon; Jake; Danielle; Ben and Dylan. Grams to 6 Great grandchildren. Sister of Gwen Hanusack; Eleanor Hodulik; Dorothy Kouyzer and the late Mackie Dekoning; Ginny Graham; Stanley Maine and Gerald Maine. Barbara dedicated her life passion for helping others as a devoted member of the Chatham-Kent Health Care Team. Barb worked for many local family Dr’s offices, as well as many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital on several floors and the Emergency Department. In keeping with Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday November 9, 2015 at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Barb’s wishes were for all who knew her to remember her as she lived her life and not to make a big fuss over her passing. Donations in memory of Barb to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
