Obituary of Simone Paula Wood

WOOD: Simone Paula (nee Bertrem) - A lifelong resident of Harwich Township, Simone Wood passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the age of 88. Born in Chatham, Simone was the daughter of the late Theophil and Flavia (Lambaert) Bertrem. Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Floyd Wood (1999). Loving mother of Larry Wood (Lois) of Chatham, Ed Wood (Brenda) of Erieau and the late Jim Wood (2012) (Louise) of Wallaceburg. Proud grandmother of Todd Wood (Cherie), Tara Pettipiece (Jason), Chad Wood (Hillary) and Shawn Wood (Rachael). Great-grandmother to Eric, Jocelyn, Cullen, Cameron,Victoria, Ruby and Owen. Sister-in-law to Marg Warren (late Bill) of Blenheim. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Predeceased by her infant brother Robert. Simone retired from Mallory's after 23 years of service. She will also be remembered by her colleagues at Erieau Packers, where she worked for many years. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 with Paula Tite officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Simone to the Community of Christ, Blenheim would be appreciated.
