Obituary of Harold Ernest Renwick

RENWICK, HAROLD Harold Ernest Renwick of Chatham passed away on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 at the age of 93. Much loved by his wife of 68 years Wilda (Hillman) as well as his daughter and son-in-law Carol and Frank Hartford. Predeceased by his son Dennis (1976). Always a very loving and caring Grandfather to Coleen Tulen (Kitchener), Tawnya Hartford (Niagara Falls), and Randy and wife Leanne Hartford (Niagara Falls). Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Iva (Davis) Renwick. Survived by his siblings Retta (Bill) Lumley, Bob (Alwilda) Renwick all of Tilbury and Lila (late Mark) McFadden of Comber. He will be sadly missed by his extended family "The Tulens" as well as many nieces and nephews. Harold farmed in Tilbury East (Quinn) even after moving to Chatham in 1979. His love of the land was secondary to the love of his family and friends. From the beginning of his marriage to Wilda diaries of all events were documented - family or community news, the daily weather, the grain prices and of course notes that would be randomly read over and over again throughout the following years. He considered himself as being updated in the modern world with his "pocket internet" which was his constant companion - a writing utensil and a small pad of paper. Right up to his final days on Earth he was hand drawing sketches of ideas that he was fully convinced they were needed to make life easier for us all. Cremation has taken place. On Wednesday, November 25th, 2015 family and friends will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, Ontario from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a service reflecting on Harold's life.
