Obituary of Robert Murphy

Murphy: Robert , poet, writer, musician, friend, partner, confidante to many, father, step-father and husband. He fought valiantly a Kidney Disease and succumbed on December 14, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. Family and friends surrounded him as he left peacefully. Robert was born in Halifax, N.S. to the late Robert and Eileen (Casey) Murphy. Beloved husband of 39 years to Ann (nee Britton). Survived by son, Rob Murphy & his children Hunter, Lucinda & Chloe, of Orillia, ON. Step-daughter, Sheryl (Glenn) Butterfield of Charlottetown, PEI; step-son, Brian Martin of Barrie, ON; brother of Michael (Pat) Murphy of Moncton, NB; and the late Joanne McLean, of Moncton, N.B. sister-in-law, Joan (Tony) Marley of Ridgetown, ON; grandchildren: Tara (predeceased), Julie Curry, Jessica Woodbury, great granddaughters: Brittany and Amber, great grandsons: Nicholas and Kaleb, Hayden & Hunter several nieces and nephews living across Canada. Also survived by his niece Joanne (Todd) Meadowcroft of Georgetown, ON, children Rachel & Kevin and nephew Michael Marley (Michelle) his son Liam of St. Johns, NFLD. A thank you to the kind nurses at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance & Victoria Hospital, London, who helped him through a difficult two years, also thank you to Dr. Prins and Dr. Peter Blake.
