Obituary of Leslie Ernest "Les" Snobelen

SNOBELEN: Leslie Ernest "Les" - A lifelong resident and farmer of the Fourth Line Community, Blenheim. Leslie passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Velma Snobelen (nee Dunlop) (2011). They had shared 61 years of married life together. Survived by his daughter Melba Steel (husband Robert "Bob" Eveland) and grandson Bobby of London. He is also survived by his siblings Jean Goulet of Blenheim, Florence Willan of Port Alma and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Lottie (Bayer) Snobelen, his son Gordon (1989), and his son-in-law Robert "Bob" Steel (2005). He is also predeceased by his siblings Mary Hebblethwaite, Edna Mills and Morley Snobelen as well as all of his brothers and sisters-in-law. Leslie was a member of the former Cedar Springs United Church charge, and was a member of the Board of Stewards there for over 15 years. He drove school bus for 24 years for K.I. DeNure (Blenheim) Bus Limited. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ed Nicol officiating. Interment to follow at Craford Cemetery.
