Van Bommel, Diane Ellen (nee Carter) - of McKay’s Corners, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday December 26, 2015, age 45. Loving wife of Martin Van Bommel for 22 years. Beloved mother of Larissa, Kiara, Brianna, and Martin “Carter”. Daughter of James and Margaret Carter of Highgate. Sister of Jim (Sally) Carter, Joanne (Steven) Thomson, Alan (Heather) Carter, John (Joanne) Carter, Carol Ann (Stephen) Hubley, and Maryann (John) Sewell. Daughter-in-law of Martin and Shirley Van Bommel of Kitchener. Sister-in-law of Michael (Lori) Van Bommel, Michelle (Eric) Miller, Brian (Sheena) Van Bommel and Beth Anne (Nikola) Mehes. Niece of Julianna (Robert) Jubenville, Irene (Henry) Stepniak, Georgina (Ron) Swackhammer, Florence (Paul) Huska, Marie (Roger) Lycke, Roseanne (George) Lernout, Vern (late Germaine) Carter, Ronald Carter, Marvin Carter, late Gary Carter, Brenda (late James) Pumfrey and Laurine (Tom) Archibald. Dear aunt to Patsy Carter, Patrick Carter, Rachel Bellamy, Eric Carter, David Myers, Tara Myers, Brent Thomson, Drew Thomson, Tabitha Carter, Anthony Carter, Heidi Carter, Marlow Carter, Travis Hubley, Tanner Hubley, Amber Sewell, Ian Sewell, Adam Van Bommel, Christine Van Bommel, David Briscoe, Josh Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Cayley Brooks, Matthew Brooks, Melodie Brooks, Cadence Ritchie, Liam Mehes and Mila Mehes. Great-aunt to Mya Briscoe. Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E., Ridgetown, on Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 2-5 pm and 7-9pm. Evening Prayers will be shared at 7pm. The Mass of Christian Burial for Diane will be held on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 145 Victoria Ave Chatham, at 12 pm. Reception to follow. Private family burial will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations in memory of Diane may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Oncology Department by contacting the funeral home.
