Obituary of Amber Marion Hall

Hall, Amber Marion (Bailey) - Passed away peacefully on Friday January 8, 2016 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 89. She was in her 90th year of life. Loved daughter of the late Harold (Ace) and Grace Bailey. Predeceased by her truly beloved husband Leonard MacDonald Hall (Mac). Predeceased by her mother-in-law Irene Hall and father-in-law John Hall. She leaves behind two daughters, Deryl Ann Hall Giera (Stan) of Chatham and Marsha Elayne Millar (Hall) (Jim) of Chatham. She is survived by four grandsons whom she adored and their wives, Nate Bertino (Laura) of Nova Scotia, Cam Bertino (Danielle) Chatham, Josh Millar (Ashley) Rondeau and Blake Milllar (Melissa Kocon) Chatham. Also five great-grandchildren Quinn, Ben, Josie, Max and Charlie. Also three step-grandchildren Deani Novak of Chatham, Wendy Heino Geira (Paul) of Toronto and Christopher Giera (Ahra) of Korea. She had five step-grandchildren, Lacey, Chad, Maggie, Sam and Ben. Amber was devoted to her family. She was predeceased by her sister Marg Lachine, brother-in-law Reg Lachine, brother-in-law David Hall, Jack Tewkesbury and sister-in-law Jean Bailey. Amber leaves her sister-in-law and best friend of 70 years Marg Tewkesbury, her brother Milt Bailey and brother-in-law Wayne Hall. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Amber was a former member of Victoria Avenue United Church where she and Mac were married. She was also a former member of Sprucedale United Church. She was an active member of the Auxillary of St. Andrews Residence and volunteered there for many years. She volunteered for 26 years with Operation Cover-Up the community coat program and many years with the Good Neighbours programs, beds for kids, furniture, bedding and other essential household goods for people who needed a little help in life. She was a great supporter of the All For Kids Program. Visitation for Amber will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday January 11, 2016 followed by a Service and a Reception at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at another time. Special thanks to the late Dr. Avril MacDonald for being so caring during the last year and 1/2. Thank you also to Dr. C. MacKenzie of St. Joseph's Respiratory Care in London. Special thanks to Dr. Sharngoe for the exceptional end of life care Amber received and the wonderful visits she had with her. To the palliative team and nurses on Medicine A and C thank you for your dedication to your patients. There are no words to describe the comfort you provided to both family and patient. Amber asked rather than sending flowers, perhaps making a donation in her memory to the C-K Hospice , C-K Health Alliance Palliative Care, Pulmonary Fibrosis Research or Psoriasis Research can be made by contacting the Funeral Home.
