Obituary of Mary Eileen Moir

Moir, Mary Eileen, a resident of Chatham. Mary Moir passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday January 8, 2016 at the age of 81. Born in Chatham, Ontario daughter of the late Wilfred Roy and Annie Laverna (Johnston) McGregor. Beloved wife of the late Edmond James Moir (2004). Dear mother of Scott (Lynn) Moir, RR 2, Chatham; Jim (Janice) Moir, Chatham; Jeff (Judy) Moir, Port Elgin and late infant daughter Shelly May (1957). Grandmother of Megan (Dax) Biondi; Mark (Tara); Brock; Alex; Rebecca; and Ryan. Great Grandmother of Max; Georgie; Jack; Weston; and Edmond. Sister of the late Gloria (Byrell) Lewis; Ida (Grant) Forsyth; and Jessie (George) Down. Also survived by brother-in-law Don (Joyce) Moir and several nieces and nephews. Mary was a former bus hostess with Goodtime Travel and in her spare time she enjoyed shopping, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. The Moir family express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Chatham Retirement Resort where Mary spent the last 8 years, to Bayshore Nursing and the staff on 4th floor Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Katherine Bailey for going above and beyond in administering to her health needs over the years. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday January 12, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. A Family Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham will follow the Reception at the Funeral Home.
