Obituary of Alfred Dubeau
Dubeau, Alfred - of Chatham Township, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday January 12, 2016, age 81. Alfred had such a love of life and set a perfect example of what it meant to be a devoted husband and father to his adored wife, children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. His love, respect, encouragement, and smiles will be missed by his wife of 58 years Marguerite (nee Laevens) and children Richard (Mary Lou) Dubeau of Waterloo, Laurie (Mark) Blackburn of Chatham Township, Charles (Suzanne) Dubeau of Chatham, and Sharon (Doug) Nevills of Thamesville. Grandpa of Nicole (Tim) Byrd, Jason (Amanda) Blackburn, Steve (Tiffany) Blackburn, Kara Blackburn (Joel Jenner), Michelle Dubeau, Brian Dubeau, Kevin Dubeau, Drew Nevills, Renae Nevills, Brent Nevills, Matthew Dubeau and Ryan Dubeau. Petje to Austin, Brody, and Sienna Byrd and Annabelle, Noah, and Adelynn Blackburn.
Brother to Marion (late Jack) Fox and Betty (late Jerry) Adkin. Brother-in-law of Gerard (Yvonne) Laevens, Henry (Marjorie) Laevens, and Maurice (Carol) Laevens.
Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Bert and Maude (nee McPhail) Dubeau, brother Doug (late Dorothy) Frewing, and brother Albert Frewing. Son-in-law of the late Charles and Elisa (nee Serruys) Laevens.
Alfred was a member of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1412. Alfred owned and operated his own fabricating and welding shop in Wallaceburg for many years. He was a member of Millwright Local 1244. Alfred volunteered and coached at Cloverleaf Baseball Diamond for many years. He was a member of Countryview Golf Course for many years and also enjoyed playing billiards with his children and grand-children. His beloved Canadiens and Marg’s beloved Leafs made for many interesting Hockey Night in Canada evenings.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair. St., Chatham on Thursday January 14, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. Parish Prayers will be shared at 3:45 p.m.. Knights of Columbus Service to be held at 6:45 p.m.. Family memories will be shared at Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday January 15, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 a.m.. Burial to follow at New St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
