Obituary of Evelyn Orrett

ORRETT: Evelyn Isabel (nee Cole) - Passed away peacefully Thursday January 28, 2016 at the home she shared with Sharon, Stephen and Brenda Benishek at the age of 96. Evelyn was born January 27, 1920 in Anten Mills, Vespra Township, On. She had four brothers and three sisters, all of whom have passed. She met her sweetheart and soulmate William Scott Orrett, who was visiting from Toronto, when she was nine and he was eleven. They were married December 6, 1941 and were together until Bill’s passing in 2010. With the help of the veterans land act after WWII they built a home in Scarborough. They had three children, Carolyn Bette, Robert William and Sharon Jean. Evelyn has eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She will be missed by her companion cat "Big Foot". She was a homemaker and volunteer and enjoyed many active summer and winter sports and artistic hobbies. The family would like to thank the compassionate care givers from Home Instead, Alzheimer Society, CHAP and Bayshore. The Geriatric Mental Health Outreach Team was very supportive and helpful and the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent provided excellent education. A celebration of life will take place at Sandy Cove Acres on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Donations made in memory of Evelyn to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.
