Obituary of Charles Laprise

Laprise, Charles Edward - of Chatham, a loving Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, avid fisherman and hunter passed away at Maple City Residence, on Wednesday February 3, 2016, age 83. Loving husband of the late Connie Laprise (nee Field) whom he married on August 9th, 1952. Son of the late Hector and Lillian (nee Peltier) Laprise. Father of Ken and wife Jeannie Laprise of Houston, TX, Krystal and husband Bob Guyitt of Chatham, and Simone and husband Mike Speed of Blenheim. Grandfather of ten, great-grandfather of thirteen. Brother-in-law of Joan Laprise and Bill Field. Predeceased by his twin brother Delmer Laprise, sister Doris (late Al) Jacobs, sister-in-law Lillian (late Murray) Smith and Florence Field. Known as Charlie, Chaz, Chuck and Charles, he served with the Essex Kent Scottish Regiment from 1953 - 1957 and was a Lifetime Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He started working as a General Labourer with Ontario Hydro, Ellis Don, and various other companies in Ontario. Charles later became the Business Manager for LIUNA Local Branch and served as the Building Supervisor until retirement at the Judy LaMarsh Federal Building in Chatham. Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday February 5, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Living Faith Community Church, 530 Victoria Ave, Chatham on Saturday 6, 2016 at 11 am. Reception to follow. A private family burial will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
