Obituary of Ruth Rankin

Rankin, Ruth Alexina - of Highgate, passed away at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Thursday March 24, 2016, age 91. Daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (nee McWilliams) Smith. Wife of the late C. AllenRankin (1996). Beloved mother of Kenneth and wife Carol Rankin of Highgate, David Rankin of Highgate and Kevin and wife Carol Rankin of Ridgetown. Will be missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Carolyn (Stewart) Medeley and Ted Beattie. Predeceased by siblings Marion McPhail, Isobel Gosnell, Beth Geddes, John Smith and by daughter-in-law Kathy Rankin. Ruth was a longtime member of the Highgate United Church and an active volunteer with U.C.W. for many years. A Private Family Service will be held for Ruth as per her request. Interment to take place at Duart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth to the Christian Children's Fund, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Royal Canadian Legion - Highgate would be appreciated by the family.
