Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Breschetti

BRESCHETTI: Antonio "Tony" - A resident of Ridgetown, Tony Breschetti passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus with his family at his side on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the age of 87. Born in Montuolo, Lucca, Italy, Tony was the son of the late Silverio and Annunziata (Landucci) Breschetti. Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Marie (nee Kucera). Loving father of Nancy Bianchi and her husband Daniel of Windsor, George Breschetti and his wife Kim of Kingston, Nova Scotia, Laura Gawne and her husband David of Wyoming, and Jane McVicar and her husband Shawn of Ridgetown. Grandfather and Nono of Sarah, Joseph (Roberta), Jeffrey (M.J.), Christina (Dave), Katie (Keenan), John, Michael, Thomas, Martha, Andrew (Brittany), Jenna, Matthew (Aron), Scott (Janny), Daniel (Sara), Brent, Ryan, and Carly. Great-grandfather of Xavier, Zachary, Isabella, Audrey, Noah, Emmitt. Predeceased by his brother Sirio Breschetti (1989) (late Vittoria) and two infant brothers. Brother-in-law to Tony Joch (Sheila) of Ridgetown. Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Tony's career included Daymond's in Chatham and Sinteris in Blenheim before purchasing the family farm on the ridge. He enjoyed working off the land, making homemade wine, cooking, biking and spending time with his family. Special thanks to his niece Gloria and the nursing staff of CKHA Medicine B as well as Andrea from Bayshore for their care and compassion. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Antonio to the Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
