Obituary of Angela Grace Hillman-Balfour

HILLMAN-BALFOUR: Angela Grace (nee Breen) - A resident of Chatham, and formerly of London, Angela Balfour passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the age of 93. Born in Comber, Ann was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Whittal) Breen. Beloved wife of 43 years to the late Donald Hillman (April 21,1986) and to the late James Balfour (August 4, 2010). Loving mother Bob (Nancy) Hillman of Chatham, Brent Hillman of London, and Ruth Ann (James) Reid of Sault Ste Marie. Proud grandmother of Barrett (Rebecca) Reid, Matthew (Candi) Hillman, Karen Hillman, Jamie (Mi-Mi) Hillman and Geniel Hillman. Great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings Lloyd Breen, Pauline Stevenson and James Breen. Sister-in-law to Liz Breen-Mondoux. Loving step-mother to Kathleen (Reed) Wortman of Cambridge and Ruth (Larry) Mills of London. Step-grandmother of Lisa and Melissa, both of Cambridge. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Ann retired from nursing at the Chatham General and St. Joseph's Hospital after 30 years of service. She was a former elder and WM President at Evangel Community Church and thoroughly enjoyed her time on the golf course and at the curling rink. Ann was a loving friend to many, and she will be remembered for her beautiful smile. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Ann's Life will be held at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 with Rev. Chris Couper officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in London. Donations made in memory of Ann to Loads of Love, Teen Challenge or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
