Obituary of Maxine Guyitt

Guyitt, Eva Maxine (nee Arnold) - Surrounded by the love of her family, Maxine passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday April 23, 2016. Born on May 20, 1938 in Troy, Ontario to parents the late Joseph Hilton Arnold and the late Ruth (nee Brown). Wife of Peter Lee Guyitt, of Ridgetown, for 55 years. Mother of Kimberly R. Scoyne and her husband Gary M. of Ridgetown and the late Edward “Ted” Lee Guyitt. Nana of Bradley M., Ian Lee and his fiancé Kelsey A.F. Lavigne, and Jenelle A. Scoyne. Sister-in-law of Catherine Moore of Oakville, Margaret and Camiel Seliga of Ridgetown, and Pamela Guyitt of Brantford. Aunt of Beth and Tom Yagecic of Florida, Charlene and Jim Chalmers of Toronto, Dani and Greg Danyluk of Oakville, Mary Lynne Seliga and Clark Aitken of McKays Corners, Teri Moore and Mike Vantomme of Wallaceburg, Leah Coll of Ridgetown, Debbie and Jamie Long of Ridgetown, and Julie Guyitt of Merlin. Great Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Special cousin of Joyce and the late Ted Sharp of Petrolia and the Sharp family. Predeceased also by her sister Donna Margaret Arnold, brother-in-law Harry Guyitt, and brother-in-law Tom Moore. A very special friend of many. Maxine was a school teacher at Ridgetown Public School for 29 years where she taught alongside many dear friends. Family and friends are all welcomed to gather at Erie St. United Church, 7 Erie St. North, Ridgetown on Sunday May 1, 2016 from 1-2 pm with a Memorial Service being held at 2 pm. A Celebration of Maxine’s Life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #243, 75 Main Street E., Ridgetown from 3-5 pm, come and go as you please. Cremation will have taken place. A private family interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Maxine may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program, cheques made payable the London Health Sciences Foundation or to the Erie St. United Church Building Fund.
