Obituary of M. Ruth Simpson

SIMPSON: M. Ruth (nee McMillan) - A resident of Blenheim, Ruth Simpson died at her home in the loving embrace of her family on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the age of 91. Born in Harwich Township on March 11, 1925, Ruth was the daughter of the late Delbert Angus and Lottie May (Gray) McMillan. Beloved wife of J. Ray Simpson for 68 years. Dearly loved mother of Janet Hook (Dr. Kenneth) of Stratford, Jean Nichols (Ian) of R.R.# 4 Blenheim, Eileen Lindsay (Brian Woodworth) of Blenheim and Anne Marshall (Jeffrey) of Toronto. Proud Grandma of Karen Afghan (Abdul), David Hook, Andrea Webster (Sean), Emily Nichols (Marcel Verner), Rebecca Davis (Leigh), Sarah Nichols, Patsy Lindsay (Greg Yalowega), Allan Lindsay (Lauren) and Philip Lindsay (Lisa). Great-Grandma to Anna and Julia Afghan, Collin, Grace and Owen Webster and Henry Davis. Dear sister to the late Murray McMillan (Mary) of Toronto. Also missed by her extended family and friends. Ruth enjoyed her many years with the Horticultural Society and was an active member of the New Scotland United Church, as well as the U.C.W. Ruth was very dedicated to her family and made a point of bringing everyone together. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. A Private family interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
