Obituary of Mary "Eleanor" Cummings

Eleanor passed away peacefully on Friday May 13, 2016, at Riverview Gardens, Chatham, ON, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Lorne Cummings of Chatham for over 57 years. A longtime resident of Chatham and was the daughter of the late Gordon and Leta (Meehan) Reid. Mother of Joanne (Cummings) and Tom Perrin of Dorchester, Doug and Beth (Horne) Cummings of Chatham and Bill and Karen (Van Kesteren) Cummings of Paris. Proud grandmother of Matthew, Cameron and Tyler of Chatham and Katie, Joel, Kimmy and Kelly of Paris. Kind sister of Helen and Jack Stubbs of Caledonia and Keith and Janet Reid of Moorefield. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Lorraine. Born and raised in Haldimand County and retired from Zellers after 27 years. Eleanor enjoyed her flowers and gardening and especially her grandchildren who all learned to swim in the family pool. Family to receive friends and relatives at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Sunday May 15, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place at the Funeral Home on Monday May 16, 2016 at 1 pm. with Rev. Mark Perry of St. Andrews United Church, officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
