Obituary of Jack Herman Butler

BUTLER: Jack Herman - A resident of Chatham, Jack Butler passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the age of 81. Born in Chatham, Jack was the son of the late Charles Butler (Ilene Garlick-Butler) and the late Pauline (Anderson) Butler. Beloved husband of 54 years to Ruth Ann (Christner) (2010). Loving father of Judy Medeiros, John Butler (Mary Lou) and Linda Hainge (late Robert, 2016) all of Chatham. Proud Papa of Faroth MacKenzie (Frankie), Jeremy Seney, Dalton Hainge, Bobby Couture and Trevor Howard. Great-Papa to Leah, Izaiah and Keeden. Dear brother of Stanley Butler of Chatham, Chuck Butler (Linda) of Chatham, Gary Butler (Cathy) of Bothwell, Debbie Gore of London, Lynn Neaves of London and Sue Sparks (Ron) of Chatham. Predeceased by his siblings Ruth Grant (1984), Barb Strasburg (2001) and Steve Butler (2012). Best friend to Jim Adams. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Jack retired from Siemen's after over 44 years of service. Jack enjoyed and collected classic cars. He was a talented guitar player, known as "Arkansas Jack", and played in a band known as "Men in Black". Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 with Rev. Susan Jolley officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. In Memory of Jack, all are invited to bring their classic cars for the service and the funeral procession. Donations made in memory of Jack to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
