Obituary of Jack Sonneveld

SONNEVELD, Jack It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jack Sonneveld surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Born on August 16, 1951 in Chatham, son of Joan Sonneveld (Nauta) and the late Gus Sonneveld (2014). Loving husband and best friend of 41 years to Shelley Sonneveld (Bridgen). Cherished father to Matthew Sonneveld & fiance Sarah, and Kerri-Lynn Sonneveld and fiance Michael. Loving and proud grandpa to Tyler and Brayden. Brother to Gus Sonneveld (Dina), Ruth Anne Shoemaker (Bryan), Henry Sonneveld (Darlene), Ben Sonneveld (Mary Jo), Wes Sonneveld, Wilma Wright (Richard), and Juliana Sonneveld (Kevin). Cherished son-in-law of Jack and the late Donna Bridgen. Brother-in-law of Greg Bridgen (Roni), Mark Bridgen (Christine), and Jodi Grubb (Lawrence). Survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jack was the Supervisor at the Chatham Water Pollution Control Plant before becoming the General Manager of the PUC at the time of the Municipal Amalgamation. After Jack's retirement from the Municipality, he became a consultant for Corix Utilities. Jack's greatest joy in life was creating memories with his family. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
