Obituary of Robert Van De Wynckel

Van De Wynckel, Robert A resident of Chatham, Robert Van De Wynckel died peacefully with his family by his side at the Meadow Park Nursing Home on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the age of 87. Born in Chatham he was the son of the late Rene and Clarissa Van De Wynckel. He was a farmer all his life in Tilbury East Township. A member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus in Tilbury. Beloved husband of 66 years to Mary J. Van De Wynckel of Chatham. Loving father of Phyllis and Ralph Brodie of Chatham, Katherine Ball of Chatham, Edward and Carol Van De Wynckel of Merlin and Christine Woodall (Denis) of Chatham. Proud grandfather of Bryan (Angela) Brodie, Kevin (Jessica) Brodie, Jennifer (Sunny) Bartos, Jason (Lori) Ball, Stephen Ball, Amy (Russell) Unholzer, Brittney (Jaime) Pereira, Marybeth Woodall, Virginia Woodall and Stuart Woodall. Sadly missed by 11 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Kind brother of Jean Gleeson of Fletcher. Predeceased by brothers, Odlyn and Cyril and sisters, Alice and Francis. Fondly remembered by several sister in laws, brother in laws and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Jim Higgins of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Pastor John Giurin of St. James Presbyterian Church, officiating. Donations made in memory of Robert to the Alzheimer’s Society and the Outreach For Hunger would be appreciated.
