Obituary of Hendrik Kramer

KRAMER: Hendrik 'Henry' - A resident of Chatham, during his retirement, Henry Kramer passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with his family at his side on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the age of 91. Born in Beemster, The Netherlands, Henry was the son of the late Cornelis and Cornelia (Kole) Kramer. Beloved husband to Wietske Kramer (nee Westerdyk) and the late Richtje 'Rita' (nee Nydam) (2004). Loving father of Sylvia Hingston (Wayne), Keith Kramer (Jolanda), Ernie Kramer (Betty) and Carla Maffett (Dave) Loving Step Father of Barb Dragstra (John), Evelyn Wilson (Bruce) Proud grandfather/step grandfather of Julia, Jennifer and Alysha, Tim, Jason, Kaylene and Jodi, Scott, Mike, Chris, Andrew, and Jonah and Micah, and David, Jennifer and Scott, Craig. Dear brother to Cobus, Renie, Hans, Henney. Predeceased by Cor, Jannie, Mein, Cose, Map, Henney Also missed by 27 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Henry grew up in the Netherlands, immigrated to Canada following the second world war and has farmed in the Dresden area all his working life. His family was very important to him, and all his life he enjoyed the activity of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around him. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 255 Tweedsmuir Ave W., Chatham at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 with Rev. Dr. William Koopmans and Rev. Fred Heslinga officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Refreshments at Grace Church to follow the interment service. The family thanks you for your participation in the celebration and sharing of memories during and after the service.
