Obituary of Grada Sina Louwerse

LOUWERSE: Grada Sina (nee Veldboom) - A resident of the Village on the Ridge, and formerly of Chatham and R.R. # 2 Kent Bridge, Grada Louwerse passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the age of 87. Born in Aalten, Gelderland, The Netherlands Grada was the daughter of the late Bernard and Mina (Ruessink) Veldboom. Beloved wife of 61 years to Marinus 'Mike' Louwerse. Dear mother of the late Jack Louwerse (Terry) of Ridgetown, Bernard Louwerse (Ann) of Chatham, Margaret Louwerse (Jacques Boudreau) of London, Caroline Buis (Ron) of Aylmer, Grace Verbeek (Ron) of Ridgetown and Marsha Brouwer (Art) of Chatham Township. Proud Grandma of 23 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 14 great-grandchildren. Sister to Bill Veldboom (Leida), Arnold Veldboom (Jennie), John Veldboom (Rita) all of Chatham. Sister-in-law to Irene Veldboom of Chatham and Ali Veldboom of The Netherlands. Predeceased by her brothers Bernard Veldboom and Johan Veldboom. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Grada was a longtime member of First Christian Reformed Church in Chatham, supporter of the unborn child, friend to the disabled and volunteer at Bibles for Missions Thrift Store, Chatham. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The procession for the interment will start from First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave., East, Chatham on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. and travel to Maple Leaf Cemetery for 2:00 p.m.. A Funeral Service will follow at First Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Luimes officiating, followed by a reception at the church.
