Obituary of David Bernard

BERNARD: David - A resident of Chatham, David Bernard passed away at Riverview Gardens on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the age of 64. Born in Valleyfield, Quebec on September 19, 1952, David was the son of Donna (Rodgers) and the late Wilfred Bernard (2007). Dear brother to Leonard and Jackie Bernard of Dresden and Shirley and George Pappas of Chatham. Cherished uncle to Tanya Boock, Brady Bernard, Perry and Megan Pappas, Lea and Rob Jamieson and Tony and Jodi Pappas. Great-uncle to Naya, Aalyia, Donovan, Tyson, Ashton, Blake, Josselyn, Eva, Kira, Krista and Will. Step-uncle to Lesly, Tim, Karen and Mike. Also missed by many friends and extended family. David was a man of faith who was loved and respected by everyone. He was very close to his family and loved to be with his nephews and nieces. Music was his passion as well as singing Beatles and Elvis songs whilst playing his guitar. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and caregivers. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 180 Wellington Street West, Chatham at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016 with Fr. Matt Kucharski celebrant. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham at a later date.
