Obituary of Morris Cuthbertson

A resident of Chatham, Morris Cuthbertson passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 89. Born in Sarnia, Morris was the son of the late Norman and Ruby (Morrison) Cuthbertson. Beloved husband of 68 years to Shirley (nee Stennett). Loving father of Janice Bachynski (Daniel) of Chatham, Gail Cuthbertson of London and the late Alexander Cuthbertson (2011). Proud grandfather of Mark Bachynski of Chatham and Matthew Bachynski (Megan) of Ottawa. Great-grandfather to Jordan. Dear brother to Deanna Parker (Ted) of Edmonton, David Cuthbertson (Julie) of Kanata and Richard Cuthbertson (Sandy) of Oro Station. Also missed by friends and extended family. Morris was an avid sailor, and had been a member of the Erieau Yacht Club. He enjoyed studying history, especially railroad history. Morris retired from Dekalb Canada Ltd. after 43 years of service. He was an active member of St. Paul's United Church and the Chatham Railroad Museum. A Private Graveside service will take place at Dresden Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Residence, 99 Park Street, Chatham at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 with Rev. Wanda Burse officiating.
