Obituary of Gerald 'Gerry' Hathaway

HATHAWAY: Gerald Wayne 'Gerry'- A resident of Rodney, Gerald Hathaway passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Hospital on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the age of 67. Born in St. Thomas, Gerald was the son of Wilma (Frederick) Hathaway and the late Russell Hathaway. Loving father of Michael Hathaway (Kyla Gale) of London, Donny Hathaway (Sally) of Mt. Brydges, and Danny Hathaway (Laura) of St. Thomas. Step-father to Tara Harmsworth of Chatham. Proud grandfather of Brandon Hathaway of Chatham, Brianna Hathaway of Chatham and Jolene Harmsworth of Brampton. Good friend to Joanne Vanoverbeke of Chatham. Dear brother to Frank Hathaway (Linda) of Thamesville, Bill Hathaway (Cathy) of Ridgetown and Mary Ellen VanZelst (Andrew) Kent Bridge. Predeceased by his brother Fred Hathaway. Brother-in-law to Jackie Hathaway of Ridgetown. Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Gerald worked for over 10 years at Motor Wheel and drove truck for Bob Pearce Trucking until his retirement. Gerald enjoyed fishing with his friends and family. Family will receive friends at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of his Life at 11:00 a.m. Donations made in memory of Gerald to the Evangel Community Church or the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
