Obituary of William Knight

Knight, William John - of RR#7, Blenheim, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Thursday January 5th, 2017, age 86. Born in Harwich Township, the son of the late Harry Knight and the late Janet (MacKay). Loving husband of Norma Isobell (McLachlan) Knight for 62 years. Beloved father of Robert Knight and wife Lucy of RR#3 Chatham, David Knight and wife Brenda of RR#7 Blenheim, Bill Knight and wife Jane of RR#7 Blenheim, Paul Knight and wife Linda of Plympton-Wyoming, Ont., and Janet Ermers and husband Brian of RR#4 Blenheim. Grandfather of Teresa (Scott) Scherer, Robert (Lisa) Knight, Michael (Angie) Knight, Dan Knight, Amber Knight, Arin (Chris) Genttner, Briann Knight, Megan (Adam) Watorek, Alex Knight, Stephanie Evans, Adrian Evans, Olivia Ermers and Julia Ermers. Great-Grandfather of William and Oliver Knight; Alex, Logan, and Harper Genttner; Kolton Knight-Jackson; and Peyton and Brody Watorek. Brother of Eleanor Shannon and husband Frank of London and their children Mike and Mary Anne. Bill was a lifelong farmer in Mull, focusing his passion for farming on cash crops and cattle. An avid baseball player and bowler in his younger years. Together, he and Norma enjoyed bus trips together. Bill was past Sunday School Superintendent of Ridge Church and was a faithful member of Emmanuel Congregational Church in Ridgetown. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, 141 Park St., Blenheim, on Monday January 9th, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday January 10th, at Emmanuel Congregational Church, 68 Erie St. North, Ridgetown at 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am. A Reception will follow in the Church Hall. A Private Family Burial will then be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
