Obituary of Joyce Loreen Richie

Joyce Richie, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Patrick Francis Richie for 63 beautiful years of marriage. Joyce was born in Port Alma, daughter of the late Bryce and Margaret (Hodgkin) Haskell. Dear mother of David and Debbie Richie of Sarnia, Pamela and Warren Atkinson and Dan and Lynn Richie, all of Chatham. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren; Christopher, Tanya (Nelson), Amy (Dwayne), Danielle (Tristan), Ashtin, Kristin (Matt), Kelsey (Jon) & Trevor (Alicia) and 6 great grandchildren; Amber, Avril, Mattea, Xabi, Kai, Myla & Sterling. Kind sister of Lois & Leonard Howarth of Independence, MI and Carol & Achilles Parisone of Mississauga. Predeceased by a brother Lyle Haskell. Joyce worked at Bell Telephone for many years before moving to work as a Homemaker for the Canadian Red Cross, where she retired from. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Parish, enjoyed gardening, and camping with her children and grandchildren. Family to receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham with Fr.
