Obituary of Roberta Margaret Smith

SMITH: Roberta Margaret A resident of Chatham, Roberta passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the age of 85. Roberta was a past board member of the Trenton Memorial Hospital, along with many other accomplishments. Born in Richmond, Quebec she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ellen (Cogan) Beard. Beloved wife of the late Roy Kenneth Smith (2002). Dear mother of Kenneth Smith and his wife Marie Sullivan of Belleville. Sadly missed by grandchildren Daniel Brouwers-Smith of Ottawa and Hannah Smith of Belleville. Kind sister of Gert Johnston of Fort Erie. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Irene Rodgers, Dorothy Sinclair, Pearl Smith, a brother Peter Beard, a sister- in- law Ruth Sullivan and a brother- in- law Eric Smith. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m., with a funeral service following, with Rev. Linda McFadden, officiating.
