TORRANCE: Shirley Mae (nee Robinson) - A resident of Merlin, Shirley Torrance passed away at her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the age of 78. Born on April 21, 1938, Shirley was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Morin) Robinson and was raised by her grandmother, the late Winnifred Robinson. . Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Clare Torrance (2013). Loving mother to her sons Jim Torrance (Bridgette), David Torrance (Lynda) and Larry Torrance and daughters Susan Cebula (Ed), Gloria Shingler and Dorothy Aiken (Stephen). Predeceased by her son Bruce Torrance (1983). Proud grandmother of Melissa, Laura, Eddie Jr., Samantha, Jacquelyn, Merrissa, Crystal, Pauline, Stephen Jr. and Leo. Great-grandmother to Klairissa, Cole, Jacob, Jaxson, Haily, Savannah, Audriana, Chloe, Miah, Maia, Ayden, James, Christopher, Dawn, Corriana, Dru, Charles and Daniel. Dear sister to her newly found brother Jim (Robinson) Jacuik and his wife Jennie. Family will receive friends at Merlin United Church, 100 Aberdeen Street, Merlin for a Celebration of Shirley's Life at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017. As per Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family burial to be held at Stewart Cemetery at a later date.
