Obituary of Barbara Ruth Parry

PARRY: Barbara Ruth (nee Johnson) - Wife of 60 years to Douglas Howard Parry (deceased 2008), passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Born in Chatham, Barb was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Hardcastle) Johnson. Barb and Douglas Parry are survived by their 6 children; Janet and Joseph Plens, Phil and Anne Parry, Paul and Donna Parry, Blake and Cindy Parry, Brent and Linda Parry and Pam and Brian Ainscough; 12 grandchildren; Jonathan and Jennifer Plens, Jennifer and Stephanie Parry, Matthew Parry, Brian and Jennifer Parry, Lynn and Chad Welch, Danielle and Kyle Parry and Douglas, Samantha and Payton Ainscough. As well as 4 great-grandchildren, Carsen, Ava, Marissa and Jayla. Predeceased by her brother William Johnson. Sister-in-law to Edna Bushey. Barb was a member of New St. Andrew's Church, was a past choir member and a member of the P.C.W. Auxiliary. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, Past President and Life Member of the Ladies Division of Chatham Granite Curling Club. Long time member of 210 Austin Wright Chapter I.O.D.E. and honourary active member of the Jr. Hospital League (now Helping Hands), as well as volunteer at Outreach for Hunger. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Aarssen officiating. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery to be held at a later date.
