Obituary of Peter Joseph Slyzys

Slyzys, Peter Joseph - of Woodstock, formerly of Sault St. Marie, Peter passed away suddenly on Sunday April 9th, 2017 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, age 45. Born in Sault St. Marie on June 9th, 1971 to parents Klementine "Tina" (nee Jurkus) and the late Kazimir Slyzys of Ridgetown. Loving brother of Irene Moore (Bill) of Morpeth, Henry "Hank" Slyzys (Janice) of Simcoe, David Slyzys (Theresa) of Burlington, the late Audrey Bieber (Doug) of Palmyra, and James Slyzys (Connie) of Sault St. Marie. Uncle of Lauren Wieringa (Jeff), Alycia Boschman (Matt), Nate Moore, Tena Bieber, Cassandra Bieber, Beverley Bieber, Matthew Slyzys, Samuel Slyzys, and Patrick Fluke (Amanda). Great-Uncle of Clara Wieringa, Camille Wieringa, Patrick Fluke, James Fluke and Johanna Boschman. Special father to Justin Leybourne and Greyson Boutilier. Survived also by his Aunt Josephine Sauciukas (late Joseph) of Brantford and Uncle Bruno Jurkus (Ruth) of Brantford. Peter worked in the automotive industry for many years, most recently at Vetuq Automotive in Woodstock. Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E., Ridgetown on Wednesday April 12th, 2017 from 6-8pm. Parish Prayers will be shared at 8pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated by Fr. John Juhl on Thursday April 13th, at 10am in the St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 George St., Ridgetown. Cremation will follow with a private family burial in the Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate, at a later date.
