Obituary of Wallace Stewart

STEWART: Wallace Herald ‘Wally’ - Formerly of R.R. #2 Blenheim, Wally Stewart passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 94. Born in Harwich Township, Wally was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Huffman) Stewart. Beloved husband of Frances (nee Graham) for almost 65 years. Father to Eric ‘Rick’ Stewart (Joanne (nee Kominek)) of Sudbury, Leora ‘Lee’ Flaxman (Ken) of Ajax and Marcia Stewart (Darryl Alsbrook) of Youbou, BC. Predeceased by his son Craig (1979). Grandfather of Kirsty Flaxman of Ajax. Brother to Lyn Jenner (late Don) and the late Art Stewart. Uncle to Janet Warriner (Ivan), Barb MacDonald (late Brian), Jim Jenner (Janice), Donna Lyn Jenner (Doug Desmond) and the late Joe Jenner. Dear friend to Kathleen Moderwell. Brother-in-law to the late Catherine McIntosh (late Rev. Alvin). Wally was a graduate of Blenheim High School and graduated from the University of Toronto as an Architectural Draftsman. He was a veteran, serving in the RCAF during World War II. He joined the architectural firm of “J.W. Storey” and retired after over 40 years of service. Wally was a former member of both the Blenheim and Chatham Horticultural Societies. He was an award winning gardener, a talented artist and enjoyed skating and square dancing. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. Memories will be shared at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
