Obituary of Virginia Jaques
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Virginia on May 4, 2017 at Fairfield Park Nursing Home at the age of 80. Born in Blenheim, daughter of the late Floyd & Alice (nee Rigby) Smith.
Beloved wife of the late Walter Jaques (2016). Mother of David (Connie) White of Chatham. Grandmother of Jennifer (Kyle) Blokzyl & Tricia (Matt) Chapple, both of Chatham.
Cherished great-grandmother of Bryn, Tyse & Arie Blokzyl and Cameron and Mackenzie Chapple.
Sister to the late Jane (the late Jim) Jewell & the late John (the late Betty) Smith.
Virginia is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Virginia worked over 35 years at Bell Canada where she touched the lives of many and made many lifetime friends. She enjoyed baking, bowling, playing cards and visiting any casino she could get too.
Family to receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Elaine Wilcox officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Chatham-Kent Hospice and Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
