Psalm 112:7 “She does not fear bad news: she confidently trusts the Lord to take care of her”
With her family by her side at Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Saturday, June 24th, 2017, we sadly announce that our sweet Mom has passed away.
Marguerite was born in London, ON and was the daughter of the late Jack and Nettie (Hatt) Hord. She was the dear wife of the late Leonard Thirsk and the late Nicholas Tomen.
Best Mom ever to Judy (Paul) Gingrich of Walkerton, Bobby Thirsk (Heather) & Kathy Thirsk (John Dick) both residing in Calgary, AB. (Pre-deceased by Daughter Carol Detwiler). Step-mother to Eunice (John) Zielonko & Lois Tomen, London.
Family was so important to her. She was a very proud Grandma to Lester & Amber; Jeffery, Stephen & Matthew; Selena, Austin & Farrah; cherished Great-Grandma to 11. Loving Sister to Sally Thirsk (Gary) of Barrie, Jim Hord (Jean) of London & Sister‑in‑law to Miriam Hord of Sarnia (pre-deceased by her dear Brother Jack Hord). Treasured Aunt to many nieces & nephews.
We were blessed by her wonderful sweetness she exuded wherever she was, her beautiful smile, for her selfless nature always, for the gifts God gave her as a wonderful Mom and example to all of us, for her zest for life and the kind of friend that she was to everyone ....but most of all for her steadfast unwavering faith. Mom never questioned why....she never complained and she continued to be a blessing to everyone she came in contact with. To know our Mom was to love her. She has left a deep hole in our hearts but a heritage and a lifetime of memories that will be with us forever.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, June 28th 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham at 11am on Thursday June 29, 2017 with Rev. Bobby Thirsk and Rev. Chris Couper officiating. Interment to follow at Campbell Cemetery, Komoka.
