HOOPER: Gerald -
A resident of Ridgetown, Gerald Hooper passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 66.
Born in Chatham, Gerald was the son of the late George and Doris (Stewart) Hooper.
Brother to Russ Hooper of Ridgetown.
Uncle to Jennifer Nixon (John), Jeff Hooper (Kay), Melanie Daniels (Brian), Jackie Pazitka, Jill Caryn, Emma Hooper, Tina McDonald and great-uncle to many great-nieces and great-nephews. Step-father to Adam Brown (Mande) and Melissa Janzen (Jake). Dearly missed by his loyal, longtime employees Martha Gammage and Gerry 'Weeb' O'Connor. Also missed by many friends and customers.
Gerald has been a part of the family gas station for over 50 years. As a business leader in the community, Gerald has employed and mentored many individuals. He was a kind hearted, respectful employer and was an inspiration to many young people. Gerald will be missed by the residents of Ridgetown. When away from work, Gerald loved to play golf and hockey and watch football.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E, Ridgetown on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
Donations made in memory of Gerald to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
