Webb, Ronald Ernest "Ernie"

A resident of Chatham, Ron peacefully passed away at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home with family by his side on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the age of 86. 

Ron was the son of the late John Christopher & Winifred Martha Webb. 

Beloved husband of the late Margaret "Betty" Webb (nee Francis) (2014). 

Loving father of Jon Ann Purcell and husband, Phil & Brent Webb and wife, Anne, both of Chatham. 

Grandpa of Stephen, Drew, Becca, Blair, Nikki (Matt) & Colin and Kadianne & Alora.

Great-grandpa of Velicity. 

Brother of Jim Webb and wife, Pat of Eastern Passage, NS and Cheryl Clarke and husband Alex of Ridgetown. 

Predeceased by sister, Evelyn Reynolds and husband, Harry, infant brother, William Webb and sister-in-law, Ethel Swayze and husband, Bert. 

Missed by many nieces & nephews. 

A dedicated family man who was always available and ready to help when needed.
Ron served in the Korea War (1950-1951) and was an active member and supporter of the Korea War Veterans Association of Canada as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 642. He was an avid bowler and was active in dog showing and breeding Scotch Rough Collies and Schipperke's. He enjoyed gardening, archery and had a love for sweets. 

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September, 13, 2017 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Legion Service will be held at 6:30 pm prior to evening visitation. A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Jamie Tiffin as officiant. Cremation to take place. Private family interment to take place in Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date. 

Donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Parkinson's Society or to charity of choice.
