Obituary of Joseph Francis Blake

BLAKE: Joseph Francis 'Joe' With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, papa and brother. A resident of Chatham (formerly of Wallaceburg), Joe passed away suddenly, with family by his side, at Chatham Kent Health Alliance (Chatham Campus) on Sunday September 10, 2017 at the young age of 71. Beloved and devoted husband of Brenda Blake (nee Saunders) for 52 years. Loved and treasured father of Chris Blake (Amy) and Jodi McBain (Bryce). Grandpa and Papa of Benjamin, Leah, Carly, Ella, and Cooper who will miss golf cart rides, baseball games, 3 up 3 down, 1,2,3, and roller coaster rides at Colasanti’s. Brother of Harvey Taillon (Shirley) and Brother-in-law of Lucy Scott (Tom), Rick Saunders, Wayne Saunders, and Nancy Fuch. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe loved his 11 years of retirement (from Navistar) and his winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He also enjoyed his 37 years at Wildwood and Rondeau Shores trailer parks, entertaining and making his friends and family laugh, playing cards, holey board, golf and his new sport pickle ball. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe can be made to the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation.
